Airline Travel Discount Specials – 3 Super Secret Methods to Saving Hundreds on Your Next Flight!

Being the penny pincher that I am I always want to find the best deal on everything, so when I started doing a lot of traveling I knew their had to be a better way to get great deals on airline travel. Sure you can get pretty good deals from some of the big travel agencies, but I wanted something better than that. So here I am going to give you 3 tips that I have learned in order to get great airline travel discount specials and save hundreds of dollars on each flight.

1. The first thing that I usually do is see what times flights are departing for my destination. Often times flights will leave at weird times, and if this is the case then I?am very happy. The reason I get excited is because I know I will be able to negotiate with the airlines in order to get a tremendous deal, because the demand for those flights are many times very low.

2. Another golden nugget I have picked up is to contact the airlines directly by phone. You will get the hotline, but if you call at the right time you may be able to get some of the 24 hour specials that the airline companies run. The key to get airline travel discount specials this way is to call just after midnight so you can get the deals after the system has just automatically been updated.

3. While these two method are effective, nothing compares to knowing someone in the industry. If you can find someone who used to work in the industry, then you are sitting on a goldmine of savings. This is because these people often know how to get deals others can’t!

This is what I did, and was able to save hundreds of dollars in the process on each and every flight!

Airline Blankets – The Best?

When you’re ready to fly the great blue skies in the future, did you know that airlines now charge you when you want to borrow a blanket? Yes, in the good old days, you could hop on board, get a pillow, blanket, drink, and food for $0. Today, if you want just about any of it, you’re going to have to pay a hefty price tag.

In the past, I’ve flown an airline that I won’t name, but they wanted to charge $10 for a blanket that was as thin as a piece of paper in a book. The stupid blanket probably wouldn’t even do the job, and I could have taken that $10 and bought something nice at my local department store.

Now, what makes a great travel airline blanket?

You’re going to want to [...]

Journey around the cradle of modern civilisation

Is it any wonder that the Mediterranean is referred to as the cradle of western civilisation? Azure seas and harsh yet beautiful terrain gave rise to philosophy, art and democracy. The echoes of the past resonate in the very earth of the land and the depths of the sea. Travellers can walk in the very footsteps of Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle. They can trod the hills where Heracles left his prints in the dust or sail in the path of Odysseus’s long journey home, but history is not all the Mediterranean has to offer.

Enjoying one of the many Mediterranean cruises available allows travellers the opportunity to take in many of the sights on the Mediterranean islands as well as the coastal towns and cities. Cruises can be as short as a few days or as long as multiple weeks. This affords cruisers the opportunity to explore the ancient ruins and seaside villages of the Mediterranean during the day, retreat to their floating resort for the evening where they can indulge in sumptuous food and entertainment, and wake up to new adventures in a new place. The Greek Isles and the surrounding lands of the Mediterranean are known for their history, ancient sites, and ruins, but that is not all that there is to enjoy on a holiday on the Mediterranean Sea.

This area of the world is famous for its beautiful beaches, vibrant nightlife and opportunities for nature excursions. Enjoying cruise through the Mediterranean will allow travellers many opportunities to explore all that this corner of the world has to offer. Cruise ships sometimes stay in port for days at a time. This will allow those who are interested to enjoy the active nightlife and explore the discos found within port cities. They can also hike the ancient trails into the mountains and explore the many caves that dot the coastline, and there is much to be said for simply spending the day lazing on the white beaches and enjoying the crystal clear waters.

The Mediterranean is full of exciting adventures both ancient and modern. Whether a traveller is interested in exploring ancient ruins or dancing in a discotheque until the wee hours of the morning, they will find what they seek in this beautiful region.

International Adventure Travel

International adventure travel: Safaris, balloon tours, swimming with dolphins, bicycling down volcanos, trekking in the Himalayas, Walmart on Christmas Eve – the list is almost endless. This will not be a comprehensive listing of all the adventure opportunities out there. Instead, here is just enough to whet your appetite.

My Own International Adventure Travel

Long before hitchhiking across the country at sixteen-years-old, I had a taste for adventure. At fourteen, a friend and I bicycled 300 miles in a few days during one summer. At seventeen, I went international with my adventuring, hitchhiking from Michigan to half-way across Mexico. Over forty now, I no longer put out my thumb – not very often, anyhow – but I still love to travel.

More recently, my international adventure travel took me to Ecuador. While there I climbed to the furthest point from the center of the Earth. Everest is highest above sea level, but due to the Earth’s bulge at the equator, the peak of Mount Chimborazo, at 20,600 feet, is farther from from the center of our planet. The top is all snow, ice, and glaciers.

My guide didn’t speak English, and thought I was a mountaineer. I had once used an ice axe and crampons to [...]

The Complexity of Airline Travel

Airline travel is becoming increasingly complex. People complain about all of the hassles involved, but is it as bad as they say? Not really.

It’s true that there is more security. You will spend more time in checkpoint lines. Also, loved ones cannot meet you at your arrival gate nor see you off at departure. But that’s about the sum of the differences. There is not that much that is new, and flight delays are certainly not a recent phenomenon.

There are tricks and tips you can use to [...]
